Basics: Creating and administrating your Facebook page
April 14, 2011
There’s a lot of advice about Facebook Strategy, but there are many small business owners that don’t know the basics. Raleigh Online Media is here to help by featuring basic “how to” posts.
How to create a Facebook page for your business
- If you do not already have a Facebook account, register for one.
- On the right sidebar, click on “more”.
- Click on “Ads and Pages”.
- Click on “Create a page”
- Select your business type and follow the instructions.
Notes on administrating a Facebook page:
- You must have 25 “Likes” before you can get a customized URL for your page. In the meantime, your Facebook page URL will have a series of numbers in it, like this:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/”Your Business Name”/212316468783563?ref=ts
- If you create a page for your business, you are already an admin of that page. Need to add another admin? First, make sure that person has a Facebook account and “Likes” your page. You can add this person as an admin by going to your business page and clicking on the “people like this” link. A list of people who like your page will pop up. Click the “Make Admin” button besides the person you wish to make an admin. You can remove admin privileges by following the same steps and clicking the “Remove Admin” button besides the person’s name.
- As an admin, you can create wall posts as your business. If you wish to post on another wall as your business, click on the link in the right-hand sidebar that says “use Facebook As (Your Business). when you are finished, click on the link again so you can post as yourself.
- If an admin no longer works for your company, be sure to remove their admin privileges.

I am extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself? Anyway keep up the excellent quality writing, it is rare to see a nice blog like this one these days..
Thanks for the compliment! I used a theme and modified it. 🙂
